With the release of the Federal Budget for 2021-22, and as expected, there were only few announcements pertaining to migration related matters.
The Government will maintain the 2021-22 Migration Program planning level at 160,000. Around 50% of that program has been allocated to skilled visas, giving priority to highly skilled migrants in the employer sponsored visa cohort.
The government has been accepting submissions for an intended overhaul of the visa and migration program to meet Australia’s changing needs and we will provide an update once more information is at hand. If you would like to view submissions already made to government, please click here.
